Stagione dei premi, nuovo atto. Dopo Golden Globes e Critics Choice Awards, in attesa delle nomination degli Oscar di settimana prossima, sono i BAFTA Awards a prendersi la scena. La 77^ edizione dei premi inglesi si terrà la sera del 18 febbraio 2024 e a condurla sarà l’attore David Tennant.

Tra i protagonisti ci sarà senza dubbio Oppenheimer di Christopher Nolan, uno dei film che finora si è imposto con più decisione nella stagione dei premi. Tredici candidature per lui, comprese quelle come Miglior regia, attore protagonista e non, e soprattutto attrice non protagonista (Emily Blunt). Alle sue spalle, Poor Things! di Yorgos Lanthimos, vincitore del Leone d’Oro di Venezia e qui candidato a 11 premi.

Seguono The Zone of Interest e Killers of the Flower Moon con 9 nomination; ma per quanto riguarda quest’ultimo, sorprende un’esclusione eccellente: Lily Gladstone, attrice che per molti si presenterà da front-runner ai prossimi premi Oscar e già premiata ai Golden Globe, non è stata neppure candidata; manca anche il nome di Martin Scorsese dalla lista dei papabili migliori registi.

Anatomia di una caduta, Maestro e The Holdovers hanno raccolto 7 candidature a testa, due in più di Barbie: il film di Greta Gerwig viene ulteriormente ridimensionato dopo i mancati exploit alle altre kermesse. Ai BAFTA Film Award concorrerà per i premi come Miglior attrice protagonista (Margot Robbie), attore non protagonista (Ryan Gosling), sceneggiatura originale, costumi e scenografia – ma non come Miglior film. Di seguito, potete scoprire chi sono tutti i film candidati.
