Berlinale 2018

È stato appena annunciato il programma completo dei titoli in competizione alla 68ma Berlinale, che sarà di scena dal 15 al 25 febbraio 2018. Molto eterogenea, come da tradizione, la composizione dei titoli presenti nella sezione, che spazia tra Europa, America Latina, Russia e Iran.

Tra i nomi di maggior richiamo internazionale troviamo Wes Anderson, che aprirà le danze con il suo film d’animazione in stop motion Isle of Dogs; Gus Van Sant con Don’t Worry, He Won’t Get Far on Foot, film è basato sull’omonima biografia del vignettista satirico John Callahan, interpretato da Joaquin Phoenix; Lav Diaz con il suo musical anti-musical Ang Panahon ng Halimaw (Season of the Devil). Da tenere d’occhio anche Unsane, il film fuori concorso di Steven Soderbergh, con Claire Foy, le cui riprese durate una settimana sono state effettuate interamente con un iPhone. 

Unico film italiano in concorso Figlia mia di Laura Bispuri, con Valeria Golino e Alba Rohrwacher. Nelle altre sezioni altri tre film di casa nostra. Il documentario Lionello e Brunello di Jacopo Quadri. Nella sezione Panorama l’opera prima dei fratelli Damiano e Fabio D’InnocenzoLa Terra dell’abbastanza; nella sezione Generation Kplus sarà presentato il cortometraggio Cena d’aragoste di Edoardo Franchetti.

Il premio alla carriera andrà a Willem Dafoe, tra i candidati agli Oscar per Un sogno chiamato Florida, in onore del quale è stata allestita una bella retrospettiva

Nella conferenza stampa di oggi, oltre agli ultimi titoli del Concorso e di Berlinale Special, è stata presentata la giuria presieduta da Tom Tykwer: oltre al regista, selezioneranno il film meritevole dell’Orso d’oro e degli altri riconoscimenti Cécile de France, Chema Prado, Adele Romanski, Ryūichi Sakamoto e Stephanie Zacharek.
