Anche quest’anno, prima degli Oscar sono stati assegnati i Razzie Awards, che “premia” i peggiori film e interpretazioni proposti al pubblico. Date le circostanze, dunque, le statuette assegnate dai membri della Golden Raspberry Foundation non sono certo le più attese dalle star e dai registi di Hollywood. 

A volte addirittura può capitare che film o attori non solo ricevano ingiustamente il premio, ma che siano incredibilmente candidati sia per i Razzie quanto per gli Oscar – non si può dimenticare che lo scorso anno Glen Close correva per entrambi i “riconoscimenti” con lo stesso ruolo (quello di Mamaw in Elegia americana).

A prescindere, comunque, che il premio sia giusto o meno, rappresenta senz’altro divertente per il pubblico, curioso di scoprire come siano percepiti determinati lungometraggi o performance. 

Quest’anno a “trionfare” sono stati Diana the Musical per la categoria Peggior film, mentre a ricevere la statuetta come Peggiori attori protagonisti sono stati rispettivamente Lebron James ( per Space Jam: A New Legacy) e Jeanna de Waal (per Diana the Musical). Non sono stati però gli unici ad aver ritirato il “premio”, dal momento che sono molte altre le categorie della rassegna – tra cui regia, sceneggiatura, attori non protagonisti e addirittura le operazioni di remake o sequel. Quest’anno, inoltre, è stata dedicata un’intera categoria a Bruce Willis – che ha ricevuto una statuetta per il peggior ruolo proposto nel 2021.
