Nella notte italiana di lunedì 27 febbraio 2023 sono andati in scena i SAG Awards, i premi del sindacato attori e uno degli ultimi grandi appuntamenti prima degli Oscar in programma il 13 marzo. A trionfare è stato ancora una volta Everything Everywhere All at Once, in grado di portare a casa le statuette come Miglior Film e tre delle quattro in palio per gli attori.

L’unico in grado di interrompere la straordinaria striscia (per forza di cose: il film dei The Daniels non aveva candidati tra gli attori protagonisti) è stato Brendan Fraser per il suo The Whale. La corsa agli Oscar adesso si fa ancora più incerta: l’attore de La Mummia è praticamente testa a testa con Austin Butler, mentre Colin Farrell sembra essere scalato indietro di una posizione tra i favoriti.

Tra i premi per la televisione, invece, trionfano The White Lotus nella sezione dramma e Abbott Elementary per quella delle commedie, confermando il trend dei premi che da gennaio a oggi sta premiando i due show. Gioia anche per Jennifer Coolidge e Jason Bateman, premiato per l’ultima stagione di Ozark. Tra gli attori televisivi, ha vinto anche Jeremy Allen White come Miglior Attore in una commedia per The Bear.
