La competizione si terrà dal 22 gennaio al primo di febbraio

Il conto alla rovescia per il Sundance 2015 è appena cominciato. Il concorso, decisamente tra i più attesi tra gli esponenti del settore, ha appena fatto un annuncio importante: i film nominati per le categorie U.S, World e Next. Quest’ultima, in particolare, è dedicata alle pellicole che si avvicinano al mondo della settima arte con uno sguardo innovativo e tutto improntato verso il futuro. Viva il digitale insomma, tanto che la premiazione è sponsorizzata da Adobe.

«Il Festival sarà una pazza corsa per il nostro pubblico, un viaggio di emozioni ed esperienze estreme che vivremo grazie al lavoro dei registi indipendenti. I 66 film selezionati sono impavidi, c’è un sacco d’intensità grazie a dei soggetti personali, ma abbiamo anche commedie, romanticismo e documentari che vi faranno infuriare. Anche nelle profondità, nel materiale drammatico e in quello ancora più oscuro, il vero risultato è quello di provare empatia per i problemi delle persone e con altri modi di pensare». Le parole del presidente Cooper preparano ad un’edizione (come sempre) emozionante e ricca di titoli ad effetto. Un esempio? Il post-apocalittico Z for Zachariah di Craig Zobel, dedicato ad una donna (Margot Robbie) che crede di essere l’unico essere umano rimasto sulla Terra.
